MY FRIEND PINTO released last weekend and those who saw the film were in for a not-so-pleasant surprise. Reason being that Kalki Koechelin, who has proved her capabilities as an actor, was hardly visible in the film which basically revolved entirely around the character of Prateik. One wonders what made Kalki say 'yes' do the film, especially after enjoying author backed roles in THAT GIRL IN YELLOW BOOTS and SHAITAN?
''For me the most refreshing part about doing MY FRIEND PINTO was to get into a romcom space," she says, "I have done quite a few of these heavy duty dark characters and it was a challenge for me to do a comedy. See, it is hard to be so spontaneous. I had to do quite a few scenes even without rehearsing them. I guess the point was to diversify and I am glad I could do that with this film."
