Is Kangna too young for Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn? This is a question that was first asked a year ago when she ended up signing a flurry of films with the two veterans. Now that she is sharing screen space with both the actors in the same film, the question has been raised again about the relevance of this casting.
"Kangna Ranaut is half the age of Sanju and gap between her and Ajay is huge as well. In ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI and DOUBLE DHAMAAL it was still okay. After all, former was a period film and she was supposed to look mature. On the other hand in the latter she played Sanju's sister. However with both men wooing her in RASCALS, it is difficult to comprehend the reason behind this casting," a filmmaker wonders, "Agreed that she once shared good relation with both the actors but it is obvious that even a veteran director like David Dhawan had no issues with Kangna's casting."
With different theories floating around the film being inspired by Dhawan's own DEEWANA MASTANA, a few have even speculated whether Kangna would eventually not be paired with either of the two actors and there would be a twist in the tale.
"Well, let me not tell you about any twist as of now. Bata dia toh maza kya rahega," smiles Dhawan, "I can tell you though that there is reasoning behind Kangna being cast. We wanted someone fresh looking actress who was much younger than Sanju and Ajay. It was the need of the script."
While we have heard this one before, our source informs that there is indeed a twist in the tale that has Kangna playing a pivotal role. He says, "As Kangna comes closer to both these men in the film, there is a surprise ahead for them. In pre-climax there is a double twist which no one will see coming." Well, we hope it is worth it.
