The latest batch of students from the prestigious Roshan Taneja's School Of Acting will have the honor of receiving their convocation certificates by Naseeruddin Shah, an actor extraordinaire, who's gripping & seamless performances in cinema & theatre for over thirty years has been enjoyed by millions across the globe. Himself a former student of Professor Roshan Taneja at the FTII Pune, Naseeruddin Shah  would interact with the students & share his experiences with them.

Heaping praises on the teaching fraternity in general & Professor Taneja in particular Naseeruddin Shah said, 'I have tried teaching acting but could not last beyond a week. After parents, it's the teacher's who are the most important persons in development of an individual & especially when it comes to acting it becomes more difficult because there is no text book or fixed knowledge to be imparted. The teacher has to understand every individual & ensure that the person realizes his full potential. It's a very tough job but Taneja Sir has been doing this for the last 48 years.' 'Having said that it is important that the learning process doesn't stop. The process of learning that has started from here has to continue for you to become a good actor.' he added.

Known as a tough task master & a strict disciplinarian, Professor Roshan Taneja, Chairman of Roshan Taneja School of Acting, laid the foundation for method acting in India, way back in 1963, when he established the acting department FTII, Pune. Such is his passion for teaching that even at 78 years he continues to conduct classes for the students on a daily basis & regularly travels to Hyderabad & Jaipur to interact with his students there to ensure that they are trained as per module. Apart from conducting a four month acting diploma course he also conducts summer camps in the US.

He has had, not only some of the brightest names in Bollywood as his students but also their children. Most of the stars prefer that their kids opt for at least a stint in his academy before they begin their acting career. Under his tutelage India discovered its finest acting gems like Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah, Aamir Khan, Abhishekh Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Subhash Ghai, Shatrughan Sinha, Danny Denzongpa, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Tabu, Gulshan Grover to name a few.

His passion for teaching is equally shared by his wife Mrs. Mithika Taneja, who teaches speech & diction to the students. Roshan Taneja Acting School provides 4 months comprehensive Diploma Course for aspiring & professional actor.

With the school opening its branches in other parts of the country, Rohit Taneja, the Professor's son, who himself is a trained director, oversees the running of the institute & is instrumental in expanding the school to other parts of the country.

The course content includes Acting, Movement, Voice, Diction and Speech and also allied courses like Dance, Action, Yoga, Health and Fitness under the supervision of some of the best in the business. The course also includes practical's in front of the camera which is used for analytical proposes as well as serves as showcase for presentation to producers.
