Though much is being said and written about DANGEROUS ISHHQ being Karisma Kapoor's comeback vehicle, director Vikram Bhatt wants to declare that musical dramatic thriller should not be looked as a film that was 'designed' for Karisma's 'comeback'.
"Of course Karisma is the central protagonist in the film and the story revolves around her. However that doesn't mean that the film was written keeping her in mind," he says, "Karisma consented to do the film since it suits her. We never though that 'Ok, so let's make a film for Karisma and to bring in some zing, add 3D to the narrative'. It's the power of script that is driving the film, that's about it. We don't have a seedy marketing need to shout from the rooftops about this being Karisma's comeback film. It is everyone's conviction in the storyline that has made DANGEROUS ISHHQ possible."
With Rajniesh Duggal as her love interest in the film and Jimmy Sheirgill as well as Ruslaan Mumtaz playing important characters as well, DANGEROUS ISHHQ goes through various time periods and is a love story with a difference as it traverses not just one but close to half a dozen 'janam'.
"Well, let me not disclose the number of eras that are being explored here but I can confirm that this is a film about past life regression," says Vikram in a calculated tone, "It is the story of a girl (Karisma) whose fiance (Rajniesh) gets kidnapped now the challenge is to find out why and how did that happened. The answer lies in the past lives and the underlining theme is about 'what you sow so, shall you reap'. This is one movie where love story and suspense element amalgamate quite seamlessly."
