Unlike HATE STORY, VICKY DONOR not pitched as an adult film

VICKY DONOR arrives neck to neck with HATE STORY which is selling itself as a bold adult film. However VICKY DONOR (which again deals with an adult subject) doesn't want to pitch itself as one such film. Categorically denying that the film is suitable only for adults, director Shoojit Sircar also highlights that VICKY DONOR is a high on content affair and won't revel on adult jokes or any double meaning dialogues.
"I will never make a film that is crass or slapstick; that's not my style," says Shoojit who has to his credit critically acclaimed YAHAAN, "In fact the humour quotient in the film too is as real as it gets with nothing forced. There was a certain thin line we created while writing the film and it was well understood that it won't crosses. This means whether it is audio or visual content, nothing would make audience from any age group squirm in their seats. The film is a very straight portrait of real life characters and there won't be anything repulsive on display. On the contrary I am sure audience would admire the message conveyed."
One man who really admires him though is debutant Ayushmann Khurrana himself. Claiming that the director has done wonders with the film, the lead actor here is already heard declaring before the world that VICKY DONOR would end up winning a National award for itself.
"Well, I don't know about the National award but I can say with confidence that it would be a landmark film for sure. This kind of subject is absolutely new for the Indian audience and we have made the film just the way it should have been. The results would be known in the coming weekend," smiles Shoojit.
