Marvel-Disney's $220 million superhero film THE AVENGERS has opened to nearly full house in multiplexes as well as single screen theatres in the morning shows across India with a healthy advance booking roster. It has opened to almost 70-100% collections. The film, distributed by Disney-UTV, is the most widely released Hollywood film ever in India with combined 800 screens for its English, and dubbed Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions.
THE AVENGERS and TEZZ
The dubbed versions are reportedly doing better than the English ones in single screen theatres in places like Rajkot, Indore, Vijyawada, and Hyderabad. It took an excellent opening in Metros as well as 'A' Class centres like Bangalore. More importantly the audience has given a thumbs up to the grand assemblage of Marvel superheroes to save the world. The film may surpass the opening day collections of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 4, the highest for a Hollywood film.
In comparison, TEZZ has had a dull start. The film is released on more than 2000 screens across India. The audience response to the action drama is mixed and it may be tough going for the film in its first week itself.
