KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM has turned out to be a clean hit, what with terrific collections in its first week sitting pretty amongst the Top-10 films of the year so far. Even as Ekta Kapoor and Co. are celebrating the film's success, leading lady Sarah Jane Dias insists that she was always very sure about the adult comedy finding an audience for itself.
"I stepped into something which followed a tried and trusted formula," she says unapologetically. "Even if some termed the film as a risk, I didn't mind that. Look at it this way, till date I don't regret GAME either even though it didn't do well commercially. Now with KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM, I knew for sure that the film could not go wrong. The way film is finding footfalls, we are en route to be a superhit and 'super kool'."
However many out there were full of criticism for the film, what with KYAA KOOL HAIN HUM turning out to be the case of excess for them. What does Sarah think about this apparent disconnect between the audience and the moral brigade? While the audience seems to be fine with films belonging to this genre and are craving for more, ironically some external forces had a bone to pick.
"Search me!" sighs Sarah. "Come on, can't we see that we have an ever changing audience? KYAA KOOL HAIN HUM came seven years back and even the audience had lapped it up. Now last year we had DELHI BELLY and it did well too. Now KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM has done so well too. The audience today is ready for a launch of different themes. At the end of the day, people react to varied emotions in the same way. Now an adult comedy like this is pretty much their universal voice."
Well, one just hopes that certain cheap imitations don't crop out of nowhere now.
