Anurag Kashyap's only dream of taking GANGS OF WASSEYPUR to Dhanbad has yet again failed. Anurag's wish to have the premiere of part 2 in Wasseypur, Dhanbad will not be happening anymore.
GANGS OF WASSEYPUR part one couldn't get released in Dhanbad, Wasseypur. The filmmaker was not able to showcase the first part in the Dhanbad area where the film is based. And the reason behind the same was the residents of Wasseypur objected to certain portions in the film. They asserted that certain dialogues in the film were offending to the locals. However, the success of the first part was so huge, that this time even the localites of Wasseypur gave Anurag a green signal for the film to get released in Dhanbad. But, due to some reasons Police aren't permitting Anurag to take WASSEYPUR to Dhanbad.
More than all, Nawazzuddin, whose hometown is Wasseypur wanted to make sure that the film this time releases in Dhanbad, Wasseypur as well. But unfortunately this film will have to stay out of Dhanbad Wasseypur again. This will be a disappointment for the residents of Wasseypur too, since they were the ones who demanded for part 2 in Dhanbad this time, after the success of part 2 became so big.
Now we can just hope for a part 2 of Anurag Kashyap's WASSEYPUR and see if that could be released in Dhanbad.
Part 2 is based on Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who will play Faisal Khan's character based on dreaded don Faheem Khan, who is currently serving a life imprisonment sentence. The film is set to hit the theaters today.
Anurag says, "Yes the film was all set to be premiered and release in Dhanbad, Wassseypur this time, but due to some sensitive issues police has not yet permitted for WASSEYPUR 2 to be released in Dhanbad. This has in a way set me off because it was my dream to have a premiere of Part 2 in Wasseypur."
