Mahesh Bhatt: I don't have temperament of a remote control filmmaker

Through with JISM 2, Mahesh Bhatt is now busy with promotions of RAAZ 3. While MURDER 3 has gone on floors, AASHIQUI 2 too would kick-start early next month. However, unlike JISM 2 and RAAZ 3, he won't be involved as much with the other two films. In fact he claims not to be overtly protective about AASHIQUI 2 despite the fact that he had directed AASHIQUI two decades back.
'I am far from being protective. AASHIQUI 2 is not even written by me, it has Shagufta Rafique in charge. I have realized that I do not have desire and temperament of being a remote control filmmaker. I have had my share and now would like to leave the stage open for the new directors and writers. All these movies are more of them and nothing of me,' he says.
Since AASHIQUI 2 is being directed by another protege of his, Mohit Suri, doesn't he wish to be hands-on with this film in particular at the least since he was the manufacturer of the brand AASHIQUI?
'See, I always say this to my senior friends and colleagues that don't give responsibility to the younger lot and then try to be a remote control,' he says in his characteristic tone, 'We should not come in their way and actually should make a conscious effort to be out of their way. When you are working together then inevitably there would be times when old and new blood would interact and there may be clashes. At that time instead of being rigid about our ideas, we should work with what youngsters have to offer.'
