No gizmos, no gadgets, no fast moving cars, no impossible devices that made you wonder if they were for real indeed - When Kabir Khan started work on EK THA TIGER, there were quite a few list of no's that he had listed before he approached Aditya Chopra and Salman Khan for EK THA TIGER. Reason being that he wanted commercial, yet realistic treatment for the film instead of making it all seem like a fantasy outing.
"EK THA TIGER is an interesting blend of larger-than-life story with an actor who can pull of audience on his own. However one of the biggest decisions that we took was to keep Tiger as raw as well as edgy while being real. This means that there aren't any fancy sports cars that he is driving or wearing glasses that can look through walls or shooting with pens that turn into guns or capturing videos through buttons. Instead, I just wanted Salman to play a man who depends on physical strength and mental quality to be the perfect spy," details Kabir.
In this endeavour of his, he saw good support coming from Salman as well who involved himself in quite a few 'creative conversations'. Though some around them termed that as interference from the superstar actor, Kabir feels otherwise.
"Of course there were debates about scenes during the shooting. However interference is different from suggestions," says Kabir with a straight face, "I look forward to suggestions from my junior most Assistant Directors as well but ultimately what is shot is decided by me."
Here is hoping that back slapping relationship between the actor and the director continues even after the film releases all over this Independence Day.
