While every other filmmaker, whether big or small time, is highly fascinated with the '100 crore' phenomenon that Bollywood is currently reeling with and racing towards it, here's one filmmaker, quite renowned, who begs to differ. Industry veteran Mahesh Bhatt, who has given some wonderful films, doesn't quite feel part of the ongoing trend. In fact he is quite happy in his space.
He says, ''I don't belong to the 100 crore club category. I never tried look at films from that perspective. By choice, we have always loved working with newcomers and on small-medium budget films. And we have spent good 40 years working with this funda.''
Mahesh also says that people who make huge claims of 100 crore is a mere hype and no one actually gains out of it.
''The people who claim to make 100 crores actually make 5-10 crores only. Farak yehi hai ki woh log shor jyaada machaate hai aur dusre ke ghar jalate aur hum shor kum machete hai aur apne hi ghar kamate hai. (They make huge noise but no one gains from it, while we don't create much hullabaloo and make money in-house),'' says the no-nonsense filmmaker.
After Sunny Leone starrer JISM 2, Mahesh Bhatt is now gearing up for upcoming release RAAZ 3, which brings Vikram Bhatt & the Bhatts together after several years. Starring Bipasha Basu, Emraan Hashmi, Esha Gupta RAAZ 3 is slated to release on September 7, 2012.
