In a couple of days from now, choreographer-director-producer and now an actress Farah Khan would be ready with her debut film as a lead, SHIRIN FARHAD KI TOH NIKAL PADI. While the fun promos indicate that this should be a light hearted outing in the offering, one wonders what's the real conflict (if at all) in the drama. After all, it would be wrong to assume that this Sanjay Leela Bhansali film would be just another regular feel-good love story.
''Well, the conflict is very simple here. Come on, we are not making a MUGHAL-E-AZAM where the conflict had to be so grave. We are just looking at some smaller issues but nothing that would lead to any high drama quotient,'' says Farah who is currently travelling across the country for city tour promotions.
In fact Farah came on board SHIRIN FARHAD once director Bela Sehgal assured her that this would be a character driven affair instead of being a heavy duty outing.
''SHIRIN FARHAD... is not a complicated love story where Boman (Irani) and I have to kill villains,' laughs Farah, 'When I read that script, I knew that it had a very sweet premise. The way all actors have been cast in the film with an out of the box thinking, be it for the main leads or the supporting ones, the film has gone to a different level.''
We would like to see if this indeed is the case once the film releases this Friday.
