Quite expectedly and as predicted and speculated in our Monday box-office update, Yash Raj Films' EK THA TIGER has indeed ended up netting in the 150 crore plus range, especially because Eid was celebrated on Monday, resulting in an extra holiday during the weekdays.
EK THA TIGER and SHIRIN FARHAD KI TOH NIKAL PADI
As per our trade and distribution sources, the Kabir Khan directed Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer, EK THA TIGER, has not only beaten the entire run of Salman Khan's last two blockbusters, BODYGUARD and DABANGG, but it has surpassed both by about 9-10 crore, thereby netting 154-155 crore (to be validated). And that in just 9-days flat!
Additionally, the Kabir Khan directed film is once again all set to be the top earner, even in the current weekend.
In the Overseas too EK THA TIGER is having a dream run (for a Salman Khan starrer) and once again (as predicted!) it will end up as Salman Khan's biggest grosser.
Meanwhile, the only new release of the week, SLB and UTV Motion Picture's Boman-Farah starrer, SHIRIN FARHAD KI TOH NIKAL PADI, has put up a decent performance (especially in the wake of the ETT wave!) on the opening day, with the high end multiplexes putting up a better show. If the film didn't have to contend with a still hot ETT it could have definitely done much better.
