When released, MAIN AURR MRS. KHANNA hadn't done well commercially. This was also the time when Salman wasn't quite a force that he is today. Also, director Prem Soni had adopted an unconventional stage, setting and narrative for his debut venture, something that he promises to have worked upon in his second outing ISHKQ IN PARIS. Confessing that he went a little too experimental in his debut outing and has now ensured that he walks the fine line of bringing in creativity into a more conventional way of filmmaking, Prem says that he is far more aware today of what goes into making a commercially successful film.
"Of course a film being appreciated or not is one thing while business is altogether different. However what I want to be cognizant of is the fact that my film didn't do good business. Fair enough, I consider that as learning. I have to now move on and make a better movie. I am working hard and giving ISHKQ IN PARIS all that I have," he says.
Since the film would be arriving around the same time that Sridevi's ENGLISH VINGLISH releases and would be followed by Rani Mukerjee's AIYYA, ISHKQ IN PARIS is pretty much being pitched as a three way battle between heroine centric films with Preity announcing a huge comeback.
"Well, I don't quite look at Preity making any comeback per se," says Prem, "Come on, she is a big star and had perhaps gone slow in choosing her films. Without burdening myself with the thought that I am responsible for her comeback, I am just plain happy that she is on board. In any case she is an intelligent woman and knows much more about films and acting than me."
With Rhehan Malliek in lead along with French actress Isabelle Adjani in a special role and Salman Khan in a cameo, ISHKQ IN PARIS releases all over on 5th October 2012.
