Mukesh Bhatt: RAAZ 3 too is cost controlled

Their last biggie was GHULAM and that was a decade and a half ago. With Aamir Khan in the lead, the film was also one of the last films that Bhatts had made with a mega star (though Aamir wasn't as big then as he is today). Circa 2012 and the Bhatt trio of Mukesh, Mahesh and Vikram is back with RAAZ 3 which again is the most expensive film that they have made ever since.
''Yes, not just in terms of sheer production values but even scale, RAAZ 3 is our costliest film. The sheer requirement of the film is such that it had to be made largely on sets. We had to put more than 35 sets and that was not just very expensive but also quite ambitious on our part to do,'' declares Mukesh Bhatt who had last made such an announcement 5 years back when Emraan Hashmi starrer AWARAPAN was pegged at a budget of 17 crores.
Considering the fact that Bhatts have been known to be quite cost conscious when it comes to the making of their films, what made them spend so much on RAAZ 3?
''Trust me, we are still pretty cost controlled for RAAZ 3,'' says Mukesh Bhatt, ''Yes our film is expensive but then I am sure that if someone else would have made it, it would cost them double the amount. Moreover we have made the film in Real 3D rather than converting it from 2D to 3D, something that many of our colleagues have done in last few months. We have utilized the best of technical expertise and got people from international arena who have supervised the quality of our work. Still, our costs never spiraled to unimaginable levels.''
