Divya Kumar in her directorial debut YAARIYAAN gets Deepti Naval to enact the role of a Bengali school teacher. Divya is extremely delighted to have Deepti Naval on board who will also be a hostel warden in the young college romance movie.

Divya admits she was rather skeptical before approaching Deepti for the role. She says, ''I was aware that Deepti is very choosy about the kind of films she does. She is barely seen doing commercial films in the recent times. To my surprise she gave her nod during the first narration itself.''

Playing the character of Mrs. Sen, Deepti Naval has undergone lessons to get a perfect Bengali accent and will also don a typical Bengali look.

Divya says, ''Deepti is busy rehearsing her Bengali lines with the accent right in place. She will also be seen in typical Bengal cotton sarees.''

The film produced by Bhushan Kumar. The next schedule of the film will be shot in Darjeeling.
