Tia Bajpai is a happy young woman. Two of her three releases (1920 - EVIL RETURNS, HAUNTED) have been successes and now she is busy with a film called IDENTITY CARD which is a dark comedy. This also means that it would be for the first time in her short, yet eventful career that she would be seen in a light hearted role instead of playing someone tormented, as has been the case in each of her films so far, including LANKA.
"IDENTITY CARD is based on an issue in Kashmir where cops may catch you and even shoot you in case you are not carrying an identity card. However instead of making it a serious and heavy film, the makers have designed it as a satire,'' informs a source.
In fact the shooting of the film is almost complete and Tia would soon be participating in the promotional campaign once there is a go ahead from the makers.
Says Tia, "It isn't one of those hero-heroine affairs and is instead an ensemble drive film. There are fabulous actors like Saurabh Shukla, Raghubir Yadav, Vipin Sharma and others in the film. There is a lot of humour in there. In fact there are scenes where cops torture us but it is all so stupid and funny in the way they ask questions that it leads to fun and laughter."
This isn't all as Tia has also started work on a trilingual film which is being made in Hindi, Telugu and Kannada. However she is keeping mum for now till the time the makers come up with a formal announcement.
