India's gem Pandit Ravi Shankar's demise has certainly shaken everyone. Tabla wizard Ustad Zakir Hussain, who formed a great jugalbandi with the sitar maestro, Pandit Ravi Shankar, is grief-stricken. The duo performed and represented India on global space together on several occasions. Whenever the duo teamed up they created history of sorts with their art form.

Moreover, Zakir shared a great bond with Pt Ravi Shankar as his father Ustad Allarakha used to perform along with Ravi Shankar. So for Zakir, Pt Ravi Shankar was more of a family. In fact he used to consider him as his guru fondly referred him as 'Ravi uncle'.

Remembering the icon of Indian classical music, Zakir Hussain expressed his sorrow, 'Beings like him don't die. They just go back to heaven to take their rightful place amongst Gods. Today, with his presence, heaven is enriched. Farewell Ravi uncle.'
