Just when one would have thought that after a fantastic 2012, Sanjay Dutt would be on a roll, some of his high profile films are waiting to make some good progress. These are ZILLA GHAZIABAD, remake of SAAMY and SHER.
''He started off the year brilliantly with AGNEEPATH and is line for some awards coming his way. Year end was perfect too with SON OF SARDAAR hitting the jackpot, hence making him forget a mishap called DEPARTMENT. However some of the newer films that he signed are pending for some time now,'' says an insider.
First on this list is ZILLA GHAZIABAD which has been seeing on and off announcements around its arrival but to no avail. There were certain production related issues that were quite public and latest on the film is that it would release on 22nd February. On the other hand SHER was making very good progress, before production issues ended up plaguing its prospects.
''As of now, even Dutt is waiting for further movement on this Soham Shah film. There isn't much know about the remake of SAAMY too, which was announced with much fanfare six months ago, and was planned to feature Prachi Desai alongside Dutt,'' the insider adds.
He would certainly be expected to be mighty pleased once his backlog clears faster than before so that he moves on to much more interesting and bigger stuff like ZANJEER, UNGLEE and TOTAL DHAMAAL.
