Shahid waiting for the big strike?

It is almost six months since MAUSAM hit the screens and didn't quite end up seeing a favourable response from the audience. While it was understandable that its lead actor Shahid went into a shell immediately after that, it now seems to be about time that he is back in circulation all over again. However it is quite apparent that the actor is biding his time.
"Shahid had invested so much into MAUSAM and one can't blame him for not really opening up much after that," says an industry insider, "Having said that, the positive development is that he continues to be in very good circulation. Yes, for diehard fans and followers of Shahid, it is turning out to be a period of much speculation about what he is doing next. However stay tuned as a couple of major biggies are round the corner."
It is apparent that Shahid is looking at a consolidation phase, especially after films like KAMINEY, JAB WE MET, KISMAT KONNECTION and BADMAASH COMPANY did well in a row. Though films like CHANCE PE DANCE, DIL BOLE HADIPPA and especially MAUSAM haven't been the kind of follow up projects that would make him happy, as per friends he isn't in any desperation either to start signing films by dozens. His present motto is simple - 'Wait rather than go reckless'.
"Yes, as of now TERI MERI KAHANI is the only film that he is doing," confirms a source, "However there is something big in the pipeline already. Unlike MAUSAM where he gave almost two years of his life, he won't be entertaining much gap between his films now. Around the time when TERI MERI KAHAANI releases this summer, you can expect some good announcements from him. He would be a lot more visible from that time on."
