There was a time when Bipasha Basu was at the peak of her career, what with films like NOENTRY, CORPORATE and OMKARA elevating her standing in the industry. However things went a tad downhill in the interim period when the journey wasn't as rosy for her. However trade feels that 2012 could well act as a turnaround year for year.
"With DUM MAARO DUM as her sole release in 2011, Bipasha managed some breather at the least with the film at least not turning out to be a forgettable affair. Of course a hit here would have been a good help but then looking at the kind of line up that Bipasha has this year, one can well declare that she would be celebrating the beginning of her second decade in the industry with style," comments an industry veteran.
Unfortunately the beginning of 2012 didn't go as per the plan. PLAYERS didn't exude good enough heat though Bipasha's picture perfect bikini future did a lot of talking. However JODI BREAKERS with Madhavan has been pitched as a fun film that should be a step in the right direction for Bipasha who would be exploring a new genre here. "Meanwhile there is also good wait for to see what her crossover film SINGULARITY does for her and Bollywood," continues the veteran, "There are some sure shot successes in coming months that would not just keep Bipasha excited but also have industry interested in knowing what the Bengali bombshell can offer to her audience."
What should seal the deal though are sequels to her own hit films, RAAZ 3 and RACE 2, which are guaranteed to set the box office on fire on their arrival. RAAZ 3 is being directed by Vikram Bhatt and also has a superstar attraction in the form of Emraan Hashmi who has established himself strongly as one of the most saleable actors around. On the other hand with Abbas-Mustan at the helm of affairs and Saif Ali Khan along with Bipasha Basu in the thick of things all over again, there is no reason why RACE 2 won't be everyone's favourite in its arrival before the close of year.
