All seems to be well. The news is good for Dharma Productions and Karan Johar. AGNEEPATH collections, after the scary Friday crash, saw a gradual rise and the weekend net was almost 62 crores (four days extended weekend), less by 22 crores of BODYGUARD's 84 crores (five days extended weekend). The Monday (30.01.12) figures were supposed to be the litmus test of the film's acceptability by the masses. The film seems to have passed it. There is no serious negative undercurrent about the film as per all the available indications now.
According to early reports and estimates the film has collected about 8 crores on Monday. It is a very good figure for a weekday. The overseas weekend collections have also been good according to the reports, almost matching DON 2 figures, touching 15 crores gross. The film is certain to collect above 100 crores net by the end of its first week run and with no serious competition in its way, can expect to reap a rich box office harvest this weekend as well. It can now be safely termed as the first box office hit of 2012.
