While Jackie Shroff has already started work on DHOOM 3, there is an air of mystery around his actual role in the film. While there are speculations of various kinds already floating around, the fact is that due to a NDA that the actors have signed with the production house, no one is at liberty to talk about the film or the role. However what is being divulged is that insiders at YRF had seen Jackie's performance as a don in Tamil flick AARANYA KAANDAM and were bowled over by what he brought on screen.
JACKIE SHROFF AND AAMIR KHAN
The film, which was released exactly a year ago, had even won National Awards and opened up further doors for Jackie Shroff in down South where he was anyways spreading his wings for last few years.
'Well yes, I am told that they saw AARANYA KAANDAM and that helped them in firming up their decision further. That film has seen massive appreciation from all quarters and is considered cult today. Having said that, DHOOM 3 has absolutely no similarity with that film,' says Jackie in a cautious tone, 'These are good times. I am also doing KOCHADAIYAAN with Rajinikanth. I am in a happy space because I know good work like this will always get seen.'
Audiences are happy as well to see him and Aamir Khan returning 17 years after RANGEELA . He must be well aware of the curiosity that has been generated with DHOOM 3 bringing the two actors together.
'Yes, we paired up beautifully in RANGEELA and both of us have so many good things to talk about. It is a pleasure just to meet him. He is a younger brother, just like a family to me,' smiles Jackie before signing off.
