Mahesh Bhatt calls Emraan Hashmi horrible
July 7, 2012 02:32:25 PM IST By Rachana Sheth, Glamsham Editorial
Filmmaker Mohit Suri, who has only worked with Emraan Hashmi as lead in his films, for the first time will be seen working with other stars in his upcoming directorial venture AASHIQUI 2.
When probed to Bhatts about not featuring their lucky mascot, Emraan Hashmi in in their big project, Mahesh wittily said, 'Emraan is a horrible guy. He doesn't buy me things he promises (winks).'
Mahesh further justifies about not casting Emraan in the film. He says, "Emraan can't be there in every film. It's not a middle age story. The film demanded young people, newcomers." However, ask him if he has plans to bring the old cast Rahul Roy and Annu Aggarwal, who starred in the first part, in the new AASHIQUI and he promptly replies, "No I don't think the film depends upon the gimmick like that."

Right from day one AASHIQUI 2, sequel to the pioneering historic 1990 musical hit AASHIQUI, was in the news for its massive talent hunt on video sharing platform.
Primarily, the film was supposed to star fresh faces but things didn't work out as set by Mohit and he had to zero in on Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor for the film.
Mohit reveals, "We had a disastrous opening with the entire talent hunt that we had planned. And it was actually a general effort to bring talent in front across India. But what we realized after getting the responses is that nobody was ready to put their audition video in public space. They didn't mind coming auditioning in the room, which was against the rules what I had set for the talent hunt. They didn't want to put their videos online. And the talent I saw online was not the one which I was looking for. So, it was not that I resorted to cast stars in this film. We wanted two young actors who yet to have make a mark in the industry."
However, Mohit is more than happy with his current casting.
He says, "For Shraddha I genuinely believe she is an emotional spark. She is someone who is rearing to go and got lot of emotions and energy tapped in her to become a huge star. What I liked about Shraddha is her enthusiasm, which you sometimes don't get in today's newcomers."
"Aditya, I believe he is someone who doesn't fall into a conventional newcomer that I have seen. When I called him to meet Aditya came in his shorts and flip-flops. He is someone who doesn't care about his looks. He has, perhaps, that inherent ease which I require for the character. He doesn't belong to the so-called newcomer trend. That's what I liked about him. I even asked him if he saw any of my movies and he was quite frank enough to say NO," adds the filmmaker.
For the uninitiated, Shraddha Kapoor, daughter of Shakti Kapoor has starred in TEEN PATTI & LUV KA THE END, while Aditya Roy Kapoor played supporting roles in films like ACTION REPLAYY and GUZAARISH.
