Vivek Oberoi: I am happy to be busy
July 14, 2012 06:28:53 PM IST By Rachana Sheth, Glamsham Editorial
Vivek Oberoi completes a decade in the film industry. He was one actor, who started on a great note with the films like COMPANY, SAATHIYA, ROAD, YUVA and was held as the next big thing in Bollywood then. Vivek's career was filled with loads of potential. Unfortunately, the infamous press conference ruined what should have been a fantastic career in Bollywood.
Ask Vivek if he has any regrets about it and he replies with a grin, ''No I don't have any regrets. I am happy in my space. My wife Priyanka thinks I am the best thing.''
Vivek is gearing up for his upcoming film JAYANTA BHAI KI LUV STORY where once again he'll be seen in gangster's role. He has earlier played a gangster in movies like COMPANY, SHOOTOUT AT LOKHANDWALA, however they were more dark and serious characters. While JAYANTA BHAI is a romantic-comedy.
Says Vivek, ''I play a 'Lover-bhai' in JAYANTA BHAI...I have played gangster in the past but the kind of gangster I play in my upcoming film is quite different.''
Neha Sharma, CROOK fame, plays Vivek's love interest in the film. However, their characters are quite contrasting.
''It's a mad kind of combustion when you bring people from two different worlds together. Neha plays the character of Simran, who is completely different from JayantaBhai, my character. She is educated, polished and conducts herself well, while I play a streetwise guy, who doesn't how to speak to a girl.''
Besides JAYANTA BHAI KI LUV STORY, Vivek has his hands full with good projects. And he is eagerly looking forward to it.
''I am really excited. Besides JAYANTA BHAI KI LUV STORY, I am currently working on films like KISMAT LUV PAISA DILLI (KLPD), SHER, ZILLA GHAZIABAD, KRRISH 3, AMMA 3D and yet another film with Tips which will be announced soon. I am happy to be busy,'' says the actor in an elated tone.
The film is directed by Delhiite Vinnil Markan and produced by Kumar Taurani of Tips.
