It was meant to be one goodwill gesture that is hurting Tusshar Kapoor till date. When he handed over a huge loan to director Samir Karnik so that he could complete and release CHAAR DIN KI CHANDNI on time, little did he know that he would have to wait endlessly to recover the amount. Now even though it has been over four months since the film released, Tusshar is yet to get back his full amount.
"It is a well known fact that Tusshar and Samir had a war of words once former realised that there would be dilly-dally on recovery of his moolah. Apparently Samir owed him a huge amount running into crores but when his cheques started bouncing and Tusshar realised that other members from cast and crew hadn't been paid either, he became all the more alert. He went ahead and in April filed a police complaint against Karnik for misappropriation of funds," informs our source.
Resultantly Samir was instructed to return the entire amount to Tusshar.
"Tusshar has received more than half the money but there is still a good chunk which is still pending. He made some recovery through sale of satellite rights but that hasn't been enough," the source continues.
When contacted, Tusshar confirmed that he is still waiting for balance dues. On further prodding, he said, "My lawyers are working on it and they should be able to share more information. I gave him a loan on interest in good trust and faith. Till I recover all of that, it is a closed chapter with Samir."
Apparently Samir called up Tusshar to make amends. "Well, he needs to first pay and only after would I be willing to talk to him about anything else," says Tusshar in a curt tone before signing off.
