Just before the success of BOL BACHCHAN, detractors had already started pulling down Ajay Devgn from the top line of stars because his last two releases, RASCALS and TEZZ, had met with disastrous fates.
This was quite similar to the treatment meted out to his SUHAAG and KHAKEE co-star, Akshay Kumar, who was going through a very bad phase until HOUSEFULL 2 and ROWDY RATHORE came along and propelled him in to the top slot.
However, now there is a race to the top with both Akshay and Ajay being very much in the contention. No doubt Akshay already has two outstanding successes in the form of HOUSEFULL 2 and ROWDY RATHORE, and two more films JOKER and KHILADI 786 coming up for release this year, yet even Ajay cannot be left behind as his upcoming SON OF SARDAAR promises to be laugh riot and a sure shot success.
As one can gauge from the hilarious promos, 'masala' action, and the rip roaring dialogues, which are so very funny that one does not even need to watch the proceedings to evoke laughter that the film has everything that it takes to make a big mark at the ticket window.
Moreover the lucky charm, 'Sau'nakshi (Sonakshi) Sinha (already with two of the biggest blockbusters of recent times), seems to be in prime form and in a similar 'desi' image that has made her a favourite with the masses and classes. Deadly Dutt too looks great in the action sequences and all this makes SON OF SARDAAR a really hot proposition. And of course, Ajay Devgn is looking just right for the action-comic role that has come to stay with him post GOLMAAL, SINGHAM and now BOL BACHCHAN.
