He was fending off pointed questions by the media during the launch of the trailer of his film HEROINE slated for release on 21st September 2012. The film stars Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Shahana Goswami, and Divya Dutta. The trailer has bold dialogues that instantly remind one of another super-hit film on a similar subject, Vidya Balan starrer THE DIRTY PICTURE. Madhur said that he liked THE DIRTY PICTURE and Vidya Balan's work in it but his film is different since it's the story of the rise and fall of an edgy and moody super star and not an item girl and it is a contemporary take on the film industry of today.
He also feels that Kareena Kapoor's work in his film is so good that she may win the National Award for the best actress in 2012. While referring to one of the dialogues where the film's female protagonist Mahi (Kareena Kapoor) lambasts the media for misrepresenting facts, he said that his film is not anti-media and he has high regards and good relationship with it.
