TERI MERI KAHAANI is different from MAUSAM, says Kunal Kohli

Is Shahid Kapoor reprising the part that he played in MAUSAM? And if not that, does the basic plot of his upcoming film TERI MERI KAHAANI actually on the same lines as his last romantic drama which was a box office dud and panned by one and all? That's the loose talk in some parts of the B-town and neither Shahid nor his director Kunal Kohli is one bit pleased by such comparisons.
''Ever since the promos of TERI MERI KAHAANI went on air and it was revealed that the film was about three generations and a love story traversing through it, there were gossip mongers who started spreading rumours around it being influenced by MAUSAM. After all, the Pankaj Kapoor directed film also went from one time zone to another and now since TERI MERI KAHAANI has a romantic set up as well with the clincher being Shahid as a common element, comparisons were bound to be made,'' says a source.
However no one attached to the film is willing to take it lying down.
''TERI MERI KAHAANI is more about soul-mates. Like in India we say 'janmon ke saathi', in West they call such lovers soul-mates. But then again, before you jump to conclusions, my film has nothing to do with reincarnation either. Such talks about 'punarjanam' and all are very old fashioned. We have an entirely different packaging for TERI MERI KAHAANI,'' confirms Kunal.
