Akshay clueless about Manoj Kumar's DNA REPORT
June 21, 2012 02:54:46 PM IST By Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham Editorial
It was recently reported that veteran filmmaker Manoj Kumar is making a comeback to direction with a film titled DNA REPORT. It was also hinted upon that Akshay Kumar would be featuring in the central role of a father in the expectedly controversial film. However, as has turned out, the actor has nothing to do with the film and hasn't even heard or read about it, leave aside agreeing to act in it.
AKSHAY KUMAR MANOJ KUMAR
"Akshay wasn't even aware of this so-called 'news' before some media people queried him about his part in the film. He was thoroughly stumped as he didn't have any clue what was he being enquired about. He is definitely not doing Manojji's film. Yes, he respects the veteran actor but that doesn't necessarily translate into doing the film," says a source close to the actor.
When Manoj Kumar spoke about DNA REPORT, the core idea sounded interesting since it deals with a man becoming a victim of a DNA test, despite not having any physical relationship with a woman. However since the report mentions that he is a father of the woman's child, he finds himself in a dilemma.
"Yes, the idea may be interesting but do you even see Akshay fitting into such a film? He had had his share of offbeat subjects with the likes of 8X10 TASVEER. To even suggest that Akshay could be the chosen one for DNA REPORT is a figment of an overzealous imagination. In fact he now wants to figure out from where the rumour originated. He is sure that an actor of Manojji's repute and stature won't make any such claims without getting everything out there on paper," a source adds.
While the maker of KRANTI, his last huge blockbuster, is said to have zeroed in on an actor already, the news of Akshay not being privy to his plans only makes matters further interesting. We tried contacting Akshay to gain further information but he wasn't available.
