Tigmanshu Dhulia wants good promotion for SBAG 2, MILAN TALKIES

He is one man who has consistently made good films but time and again let down by poor or below par promotion. His PAAN SINGH TOMAR worked well entirely on its own merits and though he doesn't comment on the way the Irrfan Khan starrer was marketed and released, he is quite vocal about his other underrated film SHAGIRD. In fact till date he holds grudge against the fact that his Nana Patekar starrer disappeared without any trace despite gaining some good critical acclaim for itself.
''I do feel that with some promotion at least, it could have done better. Here there was no promotion at all. Even though the film's content itself was strong, the producers didn't push the film to an optimal level. The success of PAAN SINGH TOMAR has shown that even with limited push, one can expect good returns on the basis of word of mouth. SHAGIRD didn't even have this bare minimum push,'' rues Tigmanshu.
Looking at the way GANGS OF WASSEYPUR, the film in which he is seen as an actor, was promoted quite well and is now also seeing decent footfalls for itself, Tigmanshu is hopeful that films which do not follow quintessential Bollywood route get good prominence as well. This happened with his SAHEB BIWI AUR GANGSTER last year that had released last year and seen some decent promotion for itself. Now he is sure that for his subsequent films too, namely SAHEB, BIWI AUR GANGSTER 2 and MILAN TALKIES, he would gain good publicity backup.
''Oh yes, that's the bare minimum that I expect for my films now. That's the least I deserve, isn't it,'' smiles Tigmanshu before signing off.
