No one can forget his funny act in the film 3 IDIOTS. It was literally an overnight success for actor Omi Vaidya when he mesmerised the audiences with his act as Chatur Ramalingam in the film. That was some years ago when the expectations from the actor had skyrocketed after his debut performance in Bollywood.
Unfortunately, much has changed ever since. Omi Vaidya has a string of unsuccessful films right behind him. DIL TOH BACCHA HAI JI, DESI BOYZ PLAYERS and the recent JODI BREAKERS have not been as successful as the actor must have desired. So much so that his much talked about role in the big budget movie PLAYERS went unnoticed.
Commenting on the current phase of Omi's career in Bollywood, an industry insider says, "It's high time for Vaidya to accept the much hated stereotype that still exists in Bollywood. His attempt to do different acts has not gone down well with the audiences and somewhere he has already got identified with his 3 IDIOTS act so much so that there is nothing else that the audiences want to see from him." Let's hope the actor who charmed us with his act earlier repeats the feat soon.
