Neil Nitin Mukesh made an entry in Bollywood around the same time when Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan made their respective debuts. But as Ranbir and Imran are steadily climbing the success ladder, Neil seems to be lagging behind when compared to his contemporaries.

Neil, who has don eight films so far in his career of four years, has not clinched the fame which Ranbir and Imran have managed in the same time. While Neil is struggling for a hit, on the other hand Imran and Ranbir are setting the box office on fire.

So what went wrong? Despite having the clout, looks and good acting talent, the actor is a far cry when compared to other stars.

CHECK OUT: Who's Neil's new darling?

Neil has his own explanation to defend his lackluster career. In his words, ''I've worked with seven National award-winning directors and deserve some credit for that. Ranbir and Imran only do romantic films whereas I do thrillers. Compared to them I am not a star. I am an actor.''

Neil is currently busy with the shooting of his film SHORTCUT ROMEO which according to him is his best performance till date.
