Is he in? Or is he out? That's a question hanging around Prateik's inclusion in MILAN TALKIES, a film that was announced over a year back but still hasn't seen the light of the day. Such is the suspense surrounding the film and its lead protagonist that even director Tigmanshu Dhulia isn't approaching its eventual plans even though rumours are flying thick that Imran Khan is the chosen one.
"There has already been quite some flip-flop surrounding MILAN TALKIES. Earlier there were rumours around Prateik showing reluctance about doing the film as a result of which there was also a threat of it being shelved. Later there was a relief in sight when Tigmanshu Dhulia confirmed its shooting plans for January this year. Since two months have gone by and there are still no signs of the film, plans surrounding the film seem rather uncertain," comments an insider. CHECK OUT: Prateik to quit smoking
What is certain though is that Ekta Kapoor would be producing the film under her banner Balaji Motion Pictures. Though in between Tigmanshu too was supposed to begin work on his Arjun Rampal-Preity Zinta starrer JAI RAMJI, delay in that film means the director has his options open to begin any film now. In the midst of it all, there were also rumours that since Tigmanshu wasn't ready with his script, it only added to Prateik's woes and made him further uncertain around whether he wanted to do the film or not.
"That isn't true though, as confirmed by Tigmanshu. Also, Prateik was always on board. However there were some other issues due to which the film never saw the light of the day," says a source, "However it is these 'other issues' which haven't really been made public due to which one waits to see if the project would be revived at all. Moreover now that Tigmanshu has tasted good critical and commercial acclaim with PAAN SINGH TOMAR, there is a buzz in the B-town that MILAN TALKIES would be revived. As for Prateik's presence in the film, it is still unclear."
When contacted, Tigmanshu said, "I can't comment on the case as of now. We would know the complete plan by end of month."
Is it Prateik or Imran? Well, the mystery deepens.
