Sanjay Gupta: Ekta reprimanded me for being lazy

Sanjay Gupta has finally managed to kick-start his comeback vehicle SHOOTOUT AT WADALA after waiting in the wings for over five years. However the story behind the scenes is that if not for Ekta Kapoor's insistence, he may well have continued his slumber for a longer duration. It was only after Ekta had a heart-to-heart conversation with Sanjay and assured that she would stand by him as a pillar of support did the filmmaker feel motivated enough to finally get behind the camera.
''All credit goes to Ekta for the sheer idea that she shared about SHOOTOUT AT WADALA. She was very determined that I get back behind the camera. She in fact reprimanded me for being lazy enough for the longest duration and didn't mince any words whatsoever. She was also sure that my comeback film had to be with her company. Once there was enough motivation coming in, there was no stopping,'' Gupta gets emotional here. CHECK OUT: Sanjay Gupta finds his Dawood in Sonu Sood
Now that he is finally behind the camera and in the middle of his first schedule, Sanjay is happy to be back in the reckoning all over again. ''So here I am shooting the film after finalising the film's cast and ready to throw some more surprises,'' he smiles, ''Last five years now seem to have evaporated in a dizzy. It isn't like a fresh start; it is like beginning from where I had left.''
