JANNAT 2 makers accused of plagiarism
May 3, 2012 02:24:20 PM IST Glamsham Editorial
The makers of JANNAT 2 have landed in legal trouble with a budding writer Kapil Chopra, who has reportedly filed a case against the filmmakers for plagiarism. According to the media reports, the case filed against the makers states that they have apparently stole the Mumbai-based writer's script and made JANNAT 2.
Reportedly, the hearing of the case took place last evening. Kapil claimed that he had registered his script with the Film Writers Association in 2007. Moreover, he knew Kunal Deshmukh (director of JANNAT 2) before and had once narrated the story to him. Also, Kapil had left the script's bound copy at the Bhatts office.
But, when the writer saw the promos of the Emraan hashmi and Esha Gupta starrer, he realized that it was his story with oodles of similarities. However, they denied the allegations when Kapil met Kunal and producer Mukesh Bhatt. After the denial, Kapil filed a case against the makers.
