Irrfan Khan as Dr. Ratha in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

Irrfan Khan the only Indian actor to have seriously broken into Hollywood, getting regular casting calls to work in art house as well as mainstream films, plays Dr. Ratha, a pivotal character in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, the next film of the highly successful franchise. Dr. Ratha is the face of research laboratory Oscorp and is a close associate of Dr. Curt Connors aka The Lizard played by Rhys Ifans. He was personally selected for the role by director Marc Webb who was impressed by his performance in US TV drama 'In Treatment'.


THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN is based on the comic book of the same name and stars Andrew Garfield as the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. Apart from Garfield as Peter Parker and his alter-ego Spider-man, Irrfan as Dr. Ratha, and Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors, the cast includes Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. The film will portray Parker as his super powers are evolving in high school and will explore him trying to discover the truth behind his parents.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN is scheduled to be released in 3D and in IMAX 3D on July 3, 2012, worldwide, including India.
