ISHAQZAADE is a success and while Arjun Kapoor has been accepted as a leading man, his co-star Parineeti Chopra has been hailed as someone who definitely knows how to act. Even as she is busy collecting accolades from all over, the new entrant is crediting her director Habib Faisal who has taken a step ahead by moving on from DO DOONI CHAAR (which he directed) and BAND BAAJA BAARAT (which he has written).
''Absolutely. Habib Sir is a mind blowing writer and I can say that he is one of the best writers that we have in our country. He has evolved and lived with the characters while writing the story and this adds to his direction abilities. He has acute clarity about his characters, whether it's their walk, talk, mannerisms, body language, facial expressions etc. It becomes easy to work with such directors and you get to learn a lot. He is a gifted writer/director and the more you interact with him, the more you realise that,'' she says in awe of the director.
No wonder, moments into the film and one could see Zoya and Parma instead of Parineeti and Arjun.
'Yes, full credit to Habib Sir here since in real life, Arjun and I aren't Parma or Zoya. Perfectionist that he is, Habib Sir prepared us for the role through workshops and other sessions for four full months. We lived lives of Parma and Zoya and were just being them instead of playing them. We took these characters home and that's the reason why it all looks so effortless on screen. Honestly, a lot of hard work has gone in it and now I can safely say that it has paid off.'
