It is a known fact that VIKRAMARKUDU, the original Telugu flick which has now been remade in Hindi as ROWDY RATHORE, was high on action. At that time it was quite a novelty and while the film was released six years ago, audience has seen bigger and better action in WANTED, DABANGG or BODYGUARD. No wonder, the makers (read Prabhu Deva, Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali) are promising that their film would be 'baap' of all action and would shock the audience once it would be unveiled.
''Incidentally each of the aforementioned films are Salman Khan starrers and while he has now gone ahead to bring on some more stylised action in his forthcoming release EK THA TIGER, Akshay has redefined hardcore 'desi' action with ROWDY RATHORE,'' says a source, ''Other than all the fist and kick fights that would unfold on screen, the highlight of the film would be a sequence around the interval point where Akshay takes on dozens of goons with a weapon that resembles 'sudarshana chakra''.
Since its bearings date back to thousands of years back and is considered as the Lord Vishnu's weapon, 'sudarshana chakra' holds all the more significance.
''Yes, 'sudarshana chakra' was there in VIKRAMARKUDU too and it remains in ROWDY RATHORE as well because it is integral to the action sequences. We didn't want to change something that had been liked so much by the audience earlier on,'' says Prabhu Deva, ''However there were a few areas where we had to bring around some new elements. You can say that we have retained 50% of the action sequences and entirely changed the rest. Now it all the more suits Akshay's action image''.
As per insiders, the sequence featuring 'sudarshana chakra' is as raw and bloody as it gets and would shock quite a few.
