Four years back when Vikram Bhatt wanted to tell a horror tale set in a mystic surrounding, he chose an isolated castle in England for 1920. This time around when he is taking the franchise forward with 1920 - EVIL RETURNS, the castle marks a return, though this time in Sweden. While the horror stays, the irony is that Sweden is presented as India no less in the film.

Confirms the film's male lead Aftab Shivdasani, "Actually we have shot at places which are extremely neutral to both the countries. We haven't even spoken about any locations or any other names that could have made a difference to the shooting spots. There is just a mention of the fact that the story is set in India. Moreover, you would see that the hilly locations would seem pretty much like belonging to our own country itself."

While Vikram has shot quite a few of his films abroad, as a producer he felt that the first time director Bhushan Patel also got the best of locations made available for him that allowed a lavish treatment for 1920 - EVIL RETURNS.

"The idea was to not just match but also better the visuals when compared to 1920," says Aftab, "We chose Sweden and the administration there was also very receptive to the idea. I guess it is a virgin location not just for Bollywood but any other Indian film as well. We have made the most of it and as a result, the look of the film has come out quite magnificently because other than the castle, we have shot at some real locations outdoors as well. That has given an entirely different vibe to the film. Sweden is anyways so beautiful and today audience can see its grandeur which is exceptional."
