The exotic and highly talented Vishakha Singh may be a relatively new face in Bollywood but she needs no introduction down South, where she has worked in many successful Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. She has also made a mark in Bollywood with Ashutosh Gowariker's historical drama, KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SEY. Though the film could not succeed commercially, Vishakha received a lot of critical acclaim and was also nominated for her superb portrayal of the fiery revolutionary, Pritilata Waddedar.
Now Vishakha has moved on to two distinguished projects, Vikram Bhatt's ANKUR ARORA MEDICAL/MURDER CASE and Farhan Akhtar's FUKREY.
Talking about the really 'hat ke' film, AAMC, and its director, Vikram Bhatt, Vishakha told us, ''As you know, the film is about how the medical profession has gone haywire. Even Aamir Khan raised many related issues in SATYAMEV JAYATE. To make the film more authentic, Vikram even hired the services of a doctor on sets to give us real-time inputs. In fact, he (the doctor) confessed that the once noble medical profession is mostly about commerce now, and the common man too knows about it.''
But will such a subject be identifiable and interesting for the 'aam junta', we queried from Vishakha and she replied, ''Why not? Actually this film is based on a real life incident that took place in Delhi. We all encounter medical emergencies and such situations in real life, so the film is definitely identifiable.''
Well, with the man of the moment, Vikram Bhatt, fresh from the stupendous back to back success of RAAZ 3 and 1920 - EVIL RETURNS, at the helm of affairs, we are sure that Vishakha is right on dot and ANKUR ARORA MEDICAL/MURDER CASE too will hit the jackpot.
