Horror is in, and the master is happy playing games. Vikram Bhatt, who is easily the most successful man behind the horror genre after Ramsays, what with RAAZ 3 turning into a superhit, has now unleashed 1920 - EVIL RETURNS and it is clear that he has yet another winner in hands. What's more, he hasn't even been emotionally attached to 1920, the film which brought him back into the limelight in a big way. Instead, he has handed over the reins of the sequel to first time director Bhushan Patel.
"Vikram has been busy with so many other films and also looking at believing a mini empire of sorts where upcoming directors are given a break," informs a close associate, "Yes, at times some films have failed (LANKA) but then there have been successes (HATE STORY) as well. While he is busy putting together HAUNTED 2 which is expected to go on floors by end of year and would also be directed by him, he has kept the flag high for his company with 1920: EVIL RETURNS as the next offering."
Looking at the way the film's promo plays, one can comfortably state that the team has indeed got it right. While Aftab Shivdasani, Vikram's favourite for years, is back on the big screen, his discovery Tia Bajpai is back in horror mode after HAUNTED. Meanwhile the visuals are not just scary but also quite thrilling that should be good enough to excite audience when seen on the big screen.
"Yes, Bhushan has indeed taken 1920 to the next level with this film," says Vikram, 'While 1920: EVIL RETURNS has a similar structure as the prequel; the scale has gone further up. Of course the scare factor has only gone higher up. Watch out for it."
We would for sure once the film releases all over on 2nd November 2012.
