Last time that Ram Gopal Varma scared audience in a big way, it was BHOOT . Though in close to a decade gone by he has made films like PHOONK and AGYAAT, the maverick filmmaker chooses not to term them as horror affairs. However, now that he is ready with BHOOT RETURNS, and that too in 3D, RGV claims that he is up for the audience challenge to indeed get scared. Even though no tall claims are being around the film's story being out of this world, he promises shock element for sure.
"I honestly feel that a horror film never works on a story. At the end of the day ever since we were kids, we have been hearing horror stories so where is the novelty factor? How you can still make it all scary is by bringing some sound here, some apparition there and that's about it. That was the case in BHOOT as well and today's technology would only enhance the narrative of BHOOT RETURNS," says Ramu who has directed a film in 3D for the first time ever in his career.
He is well aware of the fact that it isn't always easy to scare the audience, especially if they have made up their mind to foil a director's plans while watching a film in theatres.
"I personally feel that when audiences step in for a horror film, they challenge a director that 'chal, mujhe dara ke dikha'. My response to them through BHOOT RETURNS is - 'Yes, of course, please be my guest. You are most welcome'," laughs Ramu, "Be ready to be really scared."
Well Ramu, we are indeed up for the challenge once the film arrives on 12th October 2012.
