Just when it had seemed that Salman Khan was choosing more original films for his pipeline ahead, guess he has taken an about turn of sorts. In 2013, he would be seen in two films and as of now both are remakes of Telugu flicks, namely KICK and BRINDAVANAM.
"Though an official word is still awaited, indications are clear that SHER KHAN would take a backseat now and Sohail Khan would be kick-starting BRINDAVANAM remake instead with his younger brother", informs a source, "Since he would be beginning work on KICK immediately after that, chances are minimal that he would get time to start and finish another film next year itself. Reason being that Sajid Nadiadwala, who has now turned director with KICK, has planned some massive action sequences for the film. Filming them would consume time."
This would also meant that remakes would continue to rule for Salman Khan who had just started to turn over a new leaf with EK THA TIGER, DABANGG 2 and SHER KHAN, all original projects.
"Well, he is committed to Sooraj Barjatya's next which is an original. However that would release only in 2014", the source adds. There is no word though on whether Sohail would eventually start SHER KHAN post that or not.
Meanwhile Salman is going slow in signing newer films, though he is keeping the choice open for remakes as well as originals. Any takers?
