From being Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn's television comeback vehicle to boasting off some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, Life OK's 'Ram Leela' is definitely turning out to be the biggest event ever witnessed on Indian television. Since the announcement of the show, there has been a lot of buzz around the Bollywood names to be associated with this Dusshera to Diwali special show. Putting some of the speculations to an end - Indian model turned Bollywood actor, Rajneesh Duggal, will be making his television debut playing the role of Lord Ram on Life OK's 'Ram Leela'.
On being part of 'Ram Leela', Rajneesh Duggal said, "It feels absolutely great to be part of such a grand show. I have grown up listening to the tales of 'Ramayana' and 'Mahabharata' and being a worshipper myself, I'm extremely excited to portray the divine Lord Ram in front of the television audiences. I have always believed in doing something different with every project of mine, and portraying the character of Lord Ram is definitely challenging. Since it's a musical, there is so much to explore - be it dancing or doing physical stunts, it's a great learning for me. Also, Indian television has grown leaps and bounds and I have great faith in Life OK as a channel which I believe has achieved a great viewer base and shown some great work in the mythology genre."
Starting off his career as a model for more than 150 fashion shows and several major ad campaigns, Rajneesh Duggal made his film debut in 2008 with the successful 1920. He continued to be part of several films such as PHHIR, BE CAREFUL and the latest DANGEROUS ISHQ co-starring with the celebrated actress Karisma Kapoor.
A story that has been passed on for generations, Ramayana has been depicted on Indian television many times before. Life OK's Ram Leela plans to take this mythological experience to a different level altogether, starting Dusshera moving on till Diwali! The epic saga shall be presented in the form of a musical, with a mix of dance, drama, music and modern technology. Every aspect of the show has been produced with utmost care. The sets have a majestic feel, while the costumes designed are intricate and simply fabulous. The whole feel is true to its period. The show 'Ram Leela' shall be a modern day representation of Lord Ram's story and his war with Raavana, where the good emerges victorious over the evil.
