After the blockbuster success of ROWDY RATHORE, UTV Motion Pictures did receive a setback with Shirish Kunder's JOKER failing to take even a decent opening.
However, taking things in their stride, the banner is all set to release their next, BARFI! The Anurag Basu directed venture stars the youngest and the newest superstar, Ranbir Kapoor, along with National Award winning actress, Priyanka Chopra, and the dew fresh beauty Ileana D'Cruz.
The first trailer of the film has managed to arouse the curiosity of the discerning audience, and it does look and feel like a totally 'hatke' film in the real sense.
Still there are a lot of speculations and questions regarding the theme and story of BARFI! And it was none other than the acclaimed director of hits like GANGSTER and LIFE... IN A METRO, who answered all the queries put forward at a press meet for the promotion of BARFI!
Says Anurag, "BARFI is not a silent film. Yes, there aren't too many dialogues in the film. Actually in quite a few of my previous films you will find that there are long scenes with no dialogues. In GANGSTER there was a 20 minute scene with no dialogue. In fact while writing the story of BARFI it was a sort of challenge to write a scene without dialogues. I had to let the expressions and emotions do the talking, rather than expressing the scene in words."
Talking about the impressive trailer of BARFI Anurag said, "It is rather difficult to put across the whole theme and content of the film in a brief trailer. But the attempt of the promo is to generate the right kind of emotion(s) amongst the audience and see that the interest of the cine-goers is kept intact."
Well, whatever the fate of his last film, KITES, one is sure that the talented and extremely well balanced director will surely come out with flying colours when the film releases worldwide on 14th September 2012!
