Ileana D'Cruz may be a superstar down South with more than a dozen and a half films to her credit in a career spanning over six years. However it is only with BARFI! where she has managed to do something that she has never done in all her Telugu and Tamil flicks i.e. enter a dubbing studio for the first time ever in her career.
"Despite such a vast experience in films, Ileana has never dubbed for any of her films. Neither Telugu nor Tamil are her speaking languages due to which she has sought help from a professional dubbing artist for her films down South. She is far more comfortable with English though since she was born in Mumbai and brought up in Goa," informs a friend of the actress.
It was only after director Anurag Basu's prodding that she managed to fetch some courage and speak her lines.
"Yes, I had butterflies in my stomach as I have never dubbed despite being in the industry for six long years. I asked Anurag if he wanted me to go through some diction training but he just asked me to chill, relax and step behind the mile," smiles Ileana, In the process she has only ended up creating a record of sorts by being the only actor whose dubbing debut was delayed for over half a decade.
