Madhur: Didn't want to cut short HEROINE during editing

Even though HEROINE hasn't been sold as a biopic, one expects a narrative which has immense depth and while revealing a lot in its two hour duration. Since the film promises to be an inside account of Bollywood, one looks forward to how much of a gripping film does HEROINE eventually turn out to be.
"The film is 2 hours 20 minutes long and we have made it really gripping. Of course there is so much material that it could have even resulted in a three hour long film. However in the current times, lesser is better. I didn't want to cut off something in the editing stage and hence all that had to be left out was decided on paper itself. I didn't shoot what I felt could have made the film lengthier", details Madhur Bhandarkar.
Now that the film is all set for release, Madhur has decided to take a real long break before embarking on his next film.
"That's right. I would be definitely going for a holiday and then on my return would travel to Cairo as a jury member for The Cairo International Film Festival. Post that I would start working on my next film. However as of now all eyes are on HEROINE", smiles Madhur before signing off.
Starring Kareena Kapoor in the title role, HEROINE released all over today.
