STUDENT Varun Dhawan turns life savior for Sahil Anand

Debutant Sahil Anand who would be seen in the most awaited film of the year Dharma Production's STUDENT OF THE YEAR. Recalling one incident, the former Roadies 4 contestant had a near-death experience while shooting for the film. For a sequence, Sahil, who didn't know swimming initially, had to specially learn swimming, though he acquired the much needed knowledge he wasn't confident shooting the scene. The swimming scene was shot in an Olympic size swimming pool and Sahil Anand along with Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra were present.

It was for the fourth time the scene was being shot, and everything went according to plan till the swimmers reached the middle of the pool and Sahil Anand's phobia took control of him and he started panicking and started to move his hands and legs frantically to keep afloat. Varun Dhawan, who is a good swimmer and who was swimming alongside Sahil Anand, realised his absence and turned back to see him struggling and losing control, soon an eyewitness adds, "Varun Dhawan swam swiftly across and reached Sahil Anand and helped him reach the sides so he could hold something and was pulled out of the swimming pool. Everyone present including Sahil Anand thanked Varun for taking him out of such a difficult situation.
The whole crew was scared as they realized that it could have led to a tragic mishap, and they called the doctor immediately to see if Sahil was fine. The professional that Sahil is insisted that they reshoot the scene and was confident that he would complete the scene without any further hiccups. Even though the crew didn't want to shoot and take a chance, on the persistence of Sahil Anand they went ahead with the shot and it came out to be one of the many best shots in the movie. As soon as the scene was over the whole crew applauded the efforts of Sahil Anand and congratulated him for overcoming his phobia of swimming.
