This week's major release, Balaji Telefilms Ltd. and Vishal Bhardwaj Pictures Pvt. Ltd.'s EK THI DAAYAN was off to a decent start of 30-40 percent during the early shows. The collections improved further during the latter screenings, based on good critic ratings and positive feedback from the audience. Given the genre the film is faring best at high end multiplexes, and seeing the way the film is progressing a good weekend is very much on the cards for the Emraan Hashmi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kalki Koechlin and Huma Qureshi starrer.
Meanwhile last Friday's two releases, T-Series' NAUTANKI SAALA! and Vipul Shah's COMMANDO, managed quite good first week numbers. While the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer netted around 18.50 crore (to be validated) with collections predominantly from multiplexes, the Vidyut Jammwal starrer netted around 17 crore (to be validated), thanks mainly to the single screens of North and Central India.
